Flute Fluency Level 1: Solfeggietto 1
Five exercises to improve note reading, awareness of tone and embouchure development.
Meaning: The way in which a player applies their mouth to the mouthpiece of a brass or wind instrument, especially as it affects the production of the sound.
Take the drinking straw, the size you would find on a drinks carton, and put it in between you lips and seal your lips around it. You are wrapping our lips around the airstream.
Blow through the straw and remove then remove it while blowing, now you can feel the airstream moving through the aperture you just made with your lips.
Aim the air at the far side of the blow hole on your flute and aim for the most clearest sound possible.
