Purpose of the Research
I am conducting research to improve the TMEP Teaching Methodology and to contribute to the field of individual music education.
The goal is to observe how much structured "Zones" (Find, Create, Grow, Develop, Achieve, Explore, Build) rather than a linear approach assists students in mastering musical concepts.
Participation and Data Collection
As part of the regular course of study, I would like to use the following for research purposes:
Anonymised scores from theory and playing challenges.
Audio or ‘audio extracted from video’ recordings of musical performances and compositions.
Worksheets and creative portfolios which have personal information redacted.
Data Protection and Anonymity
Anonymity: All data used in published research or on the research website will be anonymised. No real names or identifying personal details will be used.
Voluntary: Participation in the research is entirely voluntary. Choosing not to participate will not affect the student’s lessons or relationship with the teacher in any way.
Withdrawal: You may withdraw your consent at any time, and your data will be removed from the study.
Artificial intelligence tools may be employed to help analyze and categorise anonymised student data. This process is used strictly for identifying developmental requirements and trends and does not replace the researcher’s professional assessment.
